Photometric Measurement

One of the ways OPTIS advances the simulation of light and matter interaction is by improving light-scattering measurement techniques. Photometric and colorimetric measurement enable you to check your product’s conformity with the current standards of the automotive, aeronautics, and lighting industries as well as with your customers’ specifications.

OPTIS can take precise photometric and colorimetric measurements and generate a library that characterizes your material, lamps, and the emission spectrum of your source. This data is compatible with all OPTIS software. OPTIS also develops photometric controlling systems for production lines and laboratories.

Photometric measurements include:

  • BRDF (Bidirectional Reflection Distribution Function)
  • BTDF (Bidirectional Transmittance Distribution Function)
  • Intensity diagram of light sources (indicators, LEDs, screens)
  • HD BSDF (High Dynamics Bidirectional Scattering Distribution Function)
  • Adaptive sampling of BSDF
  • Mass diffusing materials characterization (Henyey-Greenstein)

Colorimetric measurements include:

  • Emission spectrum of sources, indicators, LEDs
  • Reflectance spectrum (BRDF) of colored objects
  • Transmission spectrum (BTDF) of colored filters
